About This Course
$250 (GST exempt)
This course is delivered in a classroom setting with practical training. The course takes one day and can be taken at our Drouin site or at your workplace (on request).
The Traffic Management Course will teach participants the basic theory of traffic controlling as well as the selection, maintenance and correct use of the appropriate traffic control equipment. It will provide participants with the essential skills for a number of industries, including construction, mining, drilling and more. In addition the course will teach participants the skills to implement a traffic management plan and set up traffic control equipment. - Prepare to control traffic.
- Control traffic and operate communication devices.
- Conduct housekeeping activities.
- Plan and prepare. Ensure traffic flow is monitored and effectiveness of guidance scheme determined.
- Control traffic to protect work crew removing traffic control devices from the work area.
- Cleaning up the work area in accordance with management plan.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Applicants will be required to undertake pre-course reading to ensure an understanding of the learning content that will be reviewed in the class contact time. These materials will be supplied to the participants upon enrolment and payment of the course.
Basic English skills are required.
The course incorporates a variety of knowledge and theory based questionnaires and practical demonstration.
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with a wallet card and the following nationally recognised Statement of Attainment: RIIWHS205E Traffic Control and RIIWHS302E Traffic Management.
What to Wear
All course participants are required to wear appropriate work attire, including closed-toe shoes and long trousers.
Morning Tea and Lunch
Participants are required to provide their own refreshments. Tea, coffee and water are provided. There is a microwave available for use.
